Authorship Criteria
Journal Integration of Management Studies (JIMS) recognizes authorship based on substantial scholarly contribution, transparency, and accountability. All listed authors must genuinely contribute to the research and take responsibility for the published work.
1. Authorship Requirements
JIMS adopts the four authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Every author must meet all four criteria:
- Make a substantial contribution to the study's conception or design, or to data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation.
- Draft the manuscript or critically review its important intellectual content.
- Approve the final version for publication.
- Accept accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the published work.
2. Contributions That Do Not Qualify as Authorship
Funding acquisition, general supervision, administrative support, proofreading, or technical assistance alone do not justify authorship. Such contributions may be acknowledged with appropriate permission.
Guest, gift, and ghost authorship are not permitted. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
3. Author Contributions
Authors must provide a statement identifying their respective contributions to the research and manuscript.
JIMS encourages the use of the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy to describe research contributions transparently.
4. Author Order and Corresponding Author
The order of authors must be agreed upon by all authors before submission and should reflect their agreed scholarly contributions.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal, coordinating revisions, and ensuring that all authors approve the submitted and final versions.
5. Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must include a written explanation and documented agreement from all affected authors. The editorial team will assess the request before making any changes.
Authorship disputes should first be resolved among the researchers or through their institutions. JIMS may suspend editorial processing while significant disputes remain unresolved.
6. Authorship Integrity
All authors share responsibility for the originality, ethical conduct, accuracy, and integrity of their published research. Suspected authorship misconduct will be addressed under the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.
